Amida Care’s Better Days
, help for the formerly incarcerated

We are pleased to announce that Amida Care's Better Days program will be accepting referrals as of April 1st, 2012. The program has been established to assist formerly incarcerated men and women who are returning to the community from jail or prison.

Is Amida Care Right for Me?

Access to a large network, and many Providers see Members in their private offices, not clinics

Advocacy of a Care Coordinator who assists Members with receiving the benefits and services they are entitled to which they are entitled.

Quick Action decisions by Primary Care Provider (PCP) and Amida Care Medical Director

Coordination of Member, hospitals, specialists, and community case management

Availability of community-based case management

Member Involvement with peer stipend positions plus Member Advisory Council (MAC), and Board membership

Amida Care Live Live Plus is a New York State sponsored HIV Special Needs Plan (SNP) that provides health care services for people on Medicaid living with HIV and their children. Amida Care services Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island. Starting September 1, 2010, if you live in New York City, choosing a Special Needs Plan or a regular Medicaid managed care plan is mandatory for PLWHA.
